Royal Victoria Marathon Website

For the Royal Victoria Marathon, we built a website that showcases the striking natural beauty of this annual fall race in Victoria, British Columbia. The website design features a runner's view of the towering Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The site also incorporates useful web applications to help runners register and prepare for the event, as well as check and share their results and race photos.

We worked with Royal Victoria Marathon (RVM) stakeholders to develop a web strategy and clear goals for their new website. They wanted their website to be as distinguished and thrilling as the race itself. We helped them translate the beauty of running through the streets and along the beaches of Victoria into an online interactive experience. The website features panoramic imagery from the mountain and ocean views marathon runners and supporters enjoy on race day. It also incorporates the existing Royal Victoria Marathon branding for a seamless visual experience.

On top of looking great, the Royal Victoria Marathon website delivers excellent information about the racing events and registration, race weekend travel and accomodations, RVM sponsors and charities, volunteer opportunities, training tips, and RVM news. The site contains everything users need to know to get ready for and enjoy the race.

The website is also a key component of the RVM's post-race activities. We integrated a third-party race results system and photo album functionality so that participants and fans could check out the race times and download photos right after the event.
