Number 41 Media Then and Now

COTBC Launched

Victoria - August 25, 2003 - The College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC) and Number 41 Media announce the launch of the college’s redesigned Web site at [www.cotbc.org]. Number 41 Media’s revamp of the COTBC site will enable the college, which oversees the practice of occupational therapy in B.C., to provide better service to college registrants, new applicants, employers, and the general public.

“We’re thrilled,” said Kathy Corbett, Registrar-CEO of COTBC. “The redesigned site gives us the professional presence we wanted.”

Number 41 Media restructured the information architecture of the site and optimized navigation to make information paths logical and intuitive. The COTBC site design combines a bright, open user interface with Number 41 Media’s signature attention to graphic detail. To ensure the COTBC’s message was as clear as its design, Number 41 Media edited and refined the existing COTBC content and print collateral. The result is concise and informative text that meets the needs of the COTBC Web site readers.

The COTBC’s new site enables the college to reach its four distinct audiences with one easy-to-navigate design. The site will improve service delivery by making college processes more accessible and easier to understand. Registrants can quickly find critical information about the college’s bylaws, yearly membership, mandate, board, committees, and structure. Members of the public and employers can confirm their occupational therapist is registered with the college. New applicants will find the information and forms they need to make registration with the college quick and hassle free.

“Kathy was determined to have only the most relevant content on the new site. She provided great information and guidance. Making sense of information hierarchies is what we’re good at,” said Dave Stewart, production manager for Number 41 Media. “It was a pleasure to have such a great collaborator.”
