Victoria - November 20, 2003 - Number 41 Media and CivicInfo BC, partners in the development of CivicSolutions, revealed dynamic new sites for the City of Merritt [www.merritt.ca], the Local Government Management Association [www.lgma.ca], and the Association of Vancouver Island Coastal Communities [www.avicc.ca].
The three sites were developed using the easy-to-navigate templates designed by Number 41 Media for the CivicSolutions system. Modifications to the visual presentation create a unique online presence for each organization. The flexible and scalable templates allow each site to develop an information architecture that specifically addresses the needs of its users. The CivicSolutions modular system allows local governments to select, from an array of 12 dynamic components, the ready-made applications they’d like to implement on their site.
“Using the CivicSolutions system, local governments get highly functional, great-looking Web sites at a fraction of what it would cost to develop a custom-built site,” said Dave Stewart, Number 41 Media’s production manager. “CivicSolutions also takes care of the hosting and provides easy-to-use content management tools that make maintaining the site simple.”
The CivicSolutions Web site system was developed by Number 41 Media and CivicInfo BC to help local governments simplify the process of Web site design, hosting, and content management.
Organizations and governments using the CivicSolutions system can choose from a number of professional site designs or they may choose to go through a custom design process. Clients can select additional dynamic content management tools such an events calendar, a photo gallery, and newsroom. In addition to these tools, clients have a number of optional services at their disposal including access to Quickscribe Online, an economical and fully searchable local government legislation service. CivicSolutions also provides hosting on a secure server in a state-of-the-art facility.
