Victoria - February 21, 2006 - We could win! The Island Aquathon website [www.islandaquathon.ca] was selected as one of five finalists in the über-geeky 2006 SXSW Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas. The website, a Number 41 Media pro bono project, received media attention last summer when Rob Dyke swam around Vancouver Island to raise water safety awareness for the Canadian Red Cross. We invite you to vote for the Island Aquathon in the online People’s Choice Awards at www.sxsw.com/peoples-choice. Our design crew would love you forever. Honest.

“We all knew that the web page was excellent,” said Kimberley Nemrava, Director, BC Coastal Region, Canadian Red Cross Society, “but it is wonderful to see that an external association has also recognized your work and creativity.” Number 41 Media thanks Rob Dyke (a.k.a. Hercules), the Red Cross, the event sponsors, and everyone in the Vancouver Island community for making the swim and the website possible.
