Interface Designer

We are looking for an interface designer with experience conceptualizing and producing web software and website interface designs. We need someone with formal graphic design training, inherent visual genius, and a sharp-shooter’s eye for detail.

You’ll be working in a dynamic production environment, with a team of business analysts, project managers, information architects, interface designers, and programmers. Within the team, you will be responsible for interpreting written and graphic specifications and delivering usable, functional designs. We’re a user-centred development firm, which means your software and site designs will undergo multiple usability and user acceptance tests. You’ll have the chance (and it’s integral that you have the ability) to adapt and refine your designs to optimize the user experience.

Must have

A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or visual arts, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience designing user interfaces for web software and websites.
Expert understanding of graphic design principles and a demonstrated ability to apply them to web technology.
Commitment to user-centred web development principles.
Ability to create and document consistent design systems.
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with a wide variety of other graphic design software.
Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Ability to communicate effectively with a dynamic team, including interpreting specifications, expressing your ideas clearly, and asking appropriate questions whenever necessary.
Ability to manage time efficiently and finish tasks on schedule.

Definitely an asset

Working knowledge of ASP.NET, PHP, JavaScript, and Flash.
An understanding of the principles of information architecture.
Experience designing interfaces for implementation with Microsoft Content Management Server and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.
Advanced typography skills.
Print design experience.
