Business Analyst

We are looking for a systems/business analyst who can distill client ideas, processes, and needs into clear sets of requirements for interactive web sites and web software. Ideally, you will have both an information systems and a business background. Work experience in the health industry, health information sciences in particular, would be a huge asset.

Working closely with our clients’ project sponsors and stakeholders, you will be responsible for gathering the information we need to conceptualize solutions to business challenges. You will also be closely involved in making sure what we build addresses the initial requirements you establish. This position offers a good balance between group problem-solving and independent brain work. It’s a great opportunity for the technically adept but socially-minded.

Must Have

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, commerce, or health information sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 - 5 years experience working in a similar role
Experience defining business requirements for information systems.
Basic understanding of web development platforms, technologies, practices, and processes. (Including basic knowledge of HTML, PHP, ASP.NET, XML, CSS, DHTML, JavaScript, MS SQL, MySQL, and various OS and web servers including Linux and MS Server.)
Familiarity with enterprise-level business processes common to government, health care, and commercial organizations. (E.g. sales, procurement, recruiting, work orders, inventory, billing)
Advanced knowledge and experience using research and analysis techniques.
Ability to lead a wide variety of interactions with client representatives, including brainstorming, interviews, collaborative working groups, user acceptance testing, and training sessions.
Superior ability to communicate effectively through the written and spoken word with members of a development team and account managers, as well as project sponsors and stakeholders.
Ability to translate abstract ideas into conceptual models.

Definitely an Asset

Experience developing information systems solutions in the health industry.
Advanced technical writing skills.
Advanced understanding of the principles and techniques of user-centered interface design, quality assurance, information architecture, and/or data modelling.

Be prepared to give examples of your work that clearly demonstrate your abilities. You will need to describe your roles and responsibilities in the development of past projects.
