The basics.

We believe that great information design is the key to a successful website or software project. That’s why we've built our expertise in wireframe development and iterative prototyping. We are especially good at creating user-friendly web interfaces for complex, information-rich websites and data-driven web software. We are committed to being a reliable, expert, and valuable resource for clients who want to use information technology to reach their goals.

We work hard to ensure that our web software and websites work on every level. Our final products must fully answer our clients’ needs. The following are our guiding principles.

Make it work

We strive to make things work perfectly, so that your data, your images, your reports, your text, and your workflow are 100% accurate and correct. This also means that when we are finished, your system has been coded in the right programming languages, it has a scalable and flexible technical architecture, it passes established and authorized standards, and it is error free.

Make it usable

We focus extra effort on the people who will use our technology because we believe a website or a piece of software that is hard to use is useless. During our design phase, we use expert information design techniques to determine how a new system will look and how people will interact with it. While we design and build, our first priority is always usability.

Make it look good

There is no good reason to build ugly software and websites, but there are plenty of reasons to make technology look good. Studies have shown that people find visually attractive software easier to use. Easier to use means fewer mistakes and more users overall. Humans naturally gravitate toward beauty and avoid unpleasantness: for example, travellers flock to pristine beaches and avoid garbage dumps. To help you take advantage of this human tendency, we design good-looking websites and software.

Make it on time and within budget

This is how we continue to build and enjoy excellent client relationships. We want to use as little time and money as needed to build the best system possible, without sacrificing any of our values or yours.

Who is this “we” of whom we speak? Oh, just a bunch of bright and talented people who hang out at Number 41 Media headquarters in Victoria, BC.
